For coffee drinkers, there's always those bags of starbucks coffee that they sell - they're pretty inexpensive, but expensive enough that they don't feel like you cheaped out on them. Bottles of wine, like Shiraz, Yellow Tail don't taste particularly bad, but are also inexpensive. Coffee table books on relevant but obscure things are also nice, like how to mix drinks, or if someone has a specific interest like travel, or art, those are good (shows you're thoughtful). Lottery cards (scratch kind) always nicely complements anything you buy (depends on the camraderie) - because if everyone scratches them at once in a group, someone is bound to win something ($2, $5, etc) and everyone comes away happy (unless someone hits something above $20 - then people get annoyed that they didn't get that card).
buy them some socks
Ha Ha....I was in the same box as you. This is what I did, I actually first made out a budget of how much I am willing to spend. I went out to TJ Maxx and Ross, (you can easily go into any dicounted store, surplusses, "Big Lots" is a good one also, but I ended up buying these cute tropical plants for like 2.99 @ Big lots, I cut some ribbon up, made a lil bowl, tied it around, and I also made a sign, which a toothpick and a scrap of paper (I printed it out on the printer and I stuck it to the potted plant) I put messages like "You are really appreciated, thank you for helping with my deliverables...etc etc etc. It all came out for like less than 25 dollars. It was a really great idea, since plants actually give a cubicle more color, it doesn't feel like an office, fresh air...etc etc etc. Also, In big lots they have very expensive chocolates, you just have to look around, but I just felt that was a burn out idea....well good luck! Just one last suggestion, I would make it very personal, like write a message or something...think back..way back!
Not knowing the $ average, there are several stores that offer ready made gift boxes, I am sure you have seen them. If you want it to be more personal then you must have some idea of what each person likes. Then make mini gift baskets & a larger one for the manager, be original. If a person likes: Gardening: Flower pot/seeds/small live plant/tools/golves etc... Movies: Popcorn bucket/micro popcorn packets/soda/movie Chocolate: Basket/fun chocolate shapes & bars Baking: Baking dish/dry pre-mix fancy cake mix/utensiles.... Coffee: Basket/coffee mug/fancy coffee/starbucks gift card/few candies Most of these things you can get at any $1.00 store, when choosing the items pick something that is unusual as well at usefull. Get some clear cellophane, tie off with a bow. Cost Plus is a good place for individual foods & drinks
Movie tickets. Gift cards in small amounts for things like coffee, candy, etc. Coffee mug filled with chocolate kisses or other candy.
