A friend of mine wants to get on line but does not have a lot of money. What is the absolute cheapest internet service on the market today? Are there still dial up internet providers around?

I had to get net zero for a couple of days once (hardware compatibility thing). I think it was like 10 bucks with a free 30 day trial. I called to cancel about one week later. They offered me 6 months free and a reduced price on their "high speed" for an additional 3. Try that out.

Ask your friend to have a laptop ready and hang out in a nearby public hotspot for free internet connection :P
