For a free and easy to build website go to http://www.tripod.com unfortunately like most free
sites you will have ads...but if you run into money down the road it is cheap to get them to turn
the ads off.
ps: you can copy and paste anything from the internet...as long as the website states you can't. So copy and paste away...good luck on your venture...you will see that tripod is set up for people like you.
Take Care
Now for the free domain...after building your site at Tripod go to http://www.shorturl.com and
create the domain name
im new at this 2 , i dont know what 2 tell u~ sorry
Start with the link below. There you can learn HTML/XHTML, which I would suggest be your first step. HTML makes up every webpage you come to today, and it's essential that you understand it and how to use it.
Sure, there's lots of nice web page programs out there that support drag and drop and make things look like a Word document, but if you understand how to use HTML markup, that will be a big first step towards future success.
I've been a professional web developer for over 10 years (now at Yahoo!)...and think this is the best way to start. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
www.geocities.com is a great place to start. You can use your yahoo account on it too. Also it isn't allowed to take things from copyrighted webpages. Thats why they are copyrighted.
As for marketing, joining a banner exchange program or joining a ring of webpages about the same topic is a great way to get your webpage out there. Also, if you are a member of any web forums, you can put your webpage link in your signature.
As for making money off of it, I don't know what you could sell on a tourism website. You could use Google Adsense at https://www.google.com/adsense/ Basically you allow them to advertise on your webpage and you get paid a small amount of money depending on how many people use it.
Good luck with your webpage.
Some good comments so far.
First of all, understand that tourism is a highly competitive market online. You will be competing with people who have a lot more money and resources than you do, but you still can make it work.
Your best bet is to focus on a niche and target a very specific (and hopefully profitable) market.
Understand that it is illegal to copy and paste someone Else's writing. It is not illegal to reword facts or news. If you find historical information, rewrite it so you target your audience.
To create your web site you will need a server to host it on and a domain name. Usually you can purchase both at the same place.
you can build a web site yourself by learning databases, coding, etc.. or try content management systems such as wordpress
http://wordpress.org/
or there are site tools like yahoo sitebuilder.

To make money you can sell products or services or add google adsence to your pages (as was already suggested).

You may want to read the article “6 Hottest Businesses on the Web http://www.powerhomebiz.com/052006/web.htm which lists six areas of the new Web that present new opportunities to small online businesses:
The Web offers tremendous opportunities for those who know how to harness it. You hear of stories of people who earn thousands if not millions of dollars from doing business on Web. While there are many scams (same way in the traditional business world), there are various ways you can legitimately make money on the Web.
Here are the main business models you can adopt:
1. Sell products on the Web - Big boys like Amazon or Lillian Vernon online catalog or smaller businesses like BigKidsVideo.com or Candle4Less.com all sell products on the Web.
You can either sell: (a) through your own storefront through your own website or applications such as Yahoo Stores; or (b) sell through online auctions like eBay
2. Information Delivery. Others such as About.com or EuropeforVisitors.com create content and monetize their content in a number of ways:
a. Advertising - From the article "How to Generate Advertising Revenues for Your Web Site" http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol28/adrevenues.htm , there are several ways you can earn money from advertising:
1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.
Burst Media http://www.burstmedia.com
Fastclick (ValueClick). http://www.fastclick.com
Advertising.com. http://www.advertising.com
Tribal Fusion http://www.tribalfusion.com
2. Participate in contextual advertising networks. Contextual advertising are text ads delivered based on the content of the web page using an automated system.
Google Adsense https://www.google.com/adsense/
Yahoo! Publishing Network (currently in beta and available to US publishers only) http://publisher.yahoo.com/

Quigo Adsonar http://www.quigo.com/adsonarexchange.htm

3. Sell advertising for your site directly. This is admittedly a more difficult route for a small business site wanting to earn advertising revenues. But hey, as they say: "no pain, no gain!"
b. Affiliate Programs - you sell other people's products that your audience may be interested in; and you get a certain commission after the desired action was done (whether a sale, a lead, subscription to email newsletter, or however this is defined)
c. Paid online content. Hoovers.com or WebmasterWorld.com Supporters forum all require paid subscription before accessing the information
d. Content licensing and syndication. Some publishers such as the Associated Press get paid every time their content is published elsewhere
"If you build it, they will come" is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more - that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News. My website (see my profile) accepts free press release submission (no strings attached!)
5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.
