Hi i am new to internet marketing and i really find it interesting. I already know the basics but i was just wondering if any one can give me info about being listed in the top ten of any catagory, basically how does it work and then maybe i can devise a way to get listed in the top ten. thanks

You have to keep submitting your website to most possible search engines - example - Yahoo, google, dmoz, etc. Follow the submission rules strictly. Do not submit again and again as some search engines will delist your website as spam. So keep submitting to most of the search engines retularly, carefully and following the rules.

You can choose a Search engine like Yahoo! or Google, some are paid by click, some by week or month, it depends on the company's policy. But, firstly, you have to find a category or a few key words, such as "Internet Marketing", then the Search engine Company will charge you by your key words. Anyway, you have to pay for it. It is another way of advertising really.
