new in making websites? where shd i start as beginner?

hi i m interested to create a webpage on tourism ...just wondering is it illegal to cut- copy-paste from other copyrighted websites ..but most of history, culture related information i can get is only from internet ..then how cud i add such info on my website? i am beginner in website creation too.. i know it will take a long time to learn and put everything on right place ..but i m determined to do this. but all i need are some good suggestion about creation , online marketing of my website and how can i make money from this website. any suggestion related to this thing are most welcome thanks.

What are the steps involved in getting a book published?

I am interested in knowing what procedure to follow in order to get my idea/manuscript out to some publishers. I don't want to go the self-publishing route. Silica, silicone for arts & crafts?? Can anyone help us?!!?

Could anyone possibly please help us?? My daughter bought me a lightbulb and herself a pair of earrings off of a market stool that sold funky kind of "New age" items and clothing. The earrings & bulb were decorated with what I can only describe as silicone "points"- the same kind of stuff you seal sinks & baths with but the "silicone" was all different funky colours so I assume its made or designed especially for arts and crafts. My lightbulb no longer works and the stool where we bought it is no longer there to buy another one so we have been trying to find out what the product is called and where we can buy some to decorate our own bulbs and my daughter make her own jewellery etc. Its very rubbery in texture and you can decorate lighters, jewellery, candle sticks all sorts with it. Your help would be very much appreciated as we have tried to find it on the internet but with such little info into its name or what its actually made of etc its hard to know what we are looking for!! Oh my!!- I meant market "STALL!!!" Sorry guys!! *Blush

Why can't we use seller agent as dual agent? Is it bad?

Many years back when internet was not common yes, you needed a buyer's agent to get the MLS listing, information about the market price etc., Now internet can give latest list of all the houses that are on sale. These sites also gives the information, regarding the houses that were sold recently in the close proximity of any house, price, size etc., and some even gives graphs of average sale price, median sale price, number of dollars/ Sq.Ft. Then you can directly call the listing agent and ask to show the house that they have listed and they will be more than happy to show You can then get references regarding house inspection, Mortgage etc., from friends. Listing agent can also give info on CDOM etc., After doing all this, if you request the sellers agent to help you as a dual agent, he/she will be more than willing to help you. Some may talk big things like ethics etc., but both agents work together when it comes to making commission. Any feedback ?

What exactly IS spyware...?

please don't just say "its software that spies on you" Obviously.... but what exactly is the reason that these programs spy on info about you? What is the purpose that they collect this info? How does this info benefit them? Someone told me that some spyware only focuses on what you search for on the internet is mainly for market research. but i just dont understand how the creaters of spyware benefit from collecting random data...

What are the most popular keyword searches made by people in my home town?

I'd like to create a website providing info of interest to people in my home town. It would be nice to know what keywords they use when they are searching the Internet. I tried Yahoo Search Marketing and Google Adwords and they got me a little bit of info but not enough to really make an informed decision about what people around here want to find online. Are there other online resources that can help me find this info? Do I need to stop people on the street and ask them? Please point me in a direction that might help me do some of this basic market research.

I will be graduating from University in North Carolina in May. I was born in Ontario, but have spent much of my life living in the US. I am considering moving back to Toronto within the next year, and need some help on which parts of the city I should look at for housing. I would prefer a studio or 1 bedroom for somewhere between 600 and 900 per month. Is this even possible if I want to be close to the subway but away from Regent Park or Jane&Finch? If possible, it would be a great help to have an idea about utility costs as well, including cable and internet. Also, what's the job market like in the city? I will have a Bachelor's degree in a Liberal Arts field, and am curious about my odds for finding a decent job. Nothing specific, just curious about the availability of jobs for people holding degrees. I'm really just looking for a vague overview. Thanks for your time.

Is it risky to give out credit card and other personal info for Internet ads offering something for free?

I get lots of marketing emails offering "free" products but then they ask for personal information such as credit card info so that they can deduct a minimal shipping and handling fee. Is this some kind of scam? Some of them tell you you have to sign up for one or two offers from a list of about 2 dozen in order to get the "free" item. Isn't this unfair marketing or illegal? I get these emails all the time and after I start filling in the required information I realize I'm getting taken because they want your personal information and try to make it seem innocent by telling you they have to collect a S & H fee.
