Open Question: How do I make a profit for a business from an outside source per month per customer?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

OK i have this crazy idea for an online marketing business that can be extremely successful because of the number of people that would use my service but I don’t want to give out the details. Anyways, there is one problem. It will cost me 10 dollars per month for each user and they will pay me 8 or 9 (i haven’t decided yet) per month. But, if I can come up with a way to be payed 2 or more dollars per month per user from an outside source in return for the user doing something (I’m not sure what yet - maybe subscribing to a website or service or anything else) for that outside source before they sign up for my service. I don’t really know if that makes sense, but I just need 2 or three extra dollars per month. The user would go to my website and sign up for my service. Right away, the user would have to do something that involved some outside source. Then, they would finish signing up with me. Whatever they did (which I am asking what it should be) would make the outside source pay me two or three dollars per month because of it. It just can’t cost the user anything, which makes it hard to figure out what it should be. This idea would be incredibly popular with the crowd of people hanging around the internet now, so any help would be great. thanks so muchdusty_titus - so are you saying that I should rent out links for advertisers for 300 dollars each or for 30 dollars each because there will be 10 advertisers? And do you mean that I should rotate the advertisers every month or have all the advertisers’ links at once on the site? ok that is a really good idea and sorry I don’t know if answerers can add details to their answer or if u can respond to this so if you can’t please email me. ok thanks a lot

Resolved Question: Job offer through school email…too good to be true? or real?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I got this email, and a few others, in my school email address. I don’t know whether it’s real or not because things do exist like this…Like today in class we filled out a survey on an ad a company was going to run after researching how it affected people. (Although we did not get paid for that one, we just get extra credit for the class it was in)Also, my roomie has been getting some emails too. We are both in the Recording Industry program which is part of Mass Communications so advertising IS an area close to our area. Here’s exactly what the email says…”Dear Kody,I would like to offer you a challenging and well-paid employment opportunity. An International Marketing Research Organization recruits self-motivated and reliable individuals, willing to take part in well-paying research studies conducted for leading US and international businesses. Your opinion as a consumer is important for the success and profitability of many business ventures. That is why they are ready to pay generously for what you think. You can earn from $300 to $550 a week for participating in online surveys, focus group discussions, and product/service evaluations. Become part of our Marketing Research Organization and earn:from $5 to $100 for participating in on-line surveysfrom $30 to $150 for participating in product/service evaluationsfrom $50 to $250 for participating in virtual focus group discussionsFor your work, you will need just a computer with Internet connection and a valid e-mail address. You will decide when to work and which surveys to take while enjoying the comfort of your room. If you like the job, you can keep it as long as you want!If you want to become one of our survey takers, please write back and I will send you more information.Sincerely,Carla Baker “I looked to see if “Carla Baker” went to MTSU (the school I go to) and she isn’t in the system…Not that that means a lot..but still lol. What’s your opinion on it? Thanks for your answers!*UPDATE*I posted this question a few minutes after I read the last email (the one I posted) and I still have no reply. I guess I’ll wait a few days and see if they ever reply. If not I guess it is a scam. Although, like one answer said…it does take time so they would be willing to pay a little at least. lol. So who knows, thanks for answering though!*UPDATE #2*Some girl was standing in the middle of a courtyard thing with a sign mentioning doing surveys, and was being recording. I think it was for the MTSU tv channel….But I still have not heard anything from the person who emailed me.

Open Question: Hey, can you please read my essay introduction and tell me if it’s okay or not?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

The essay is for E-business and I am meant to discuss an airline of my choice and evaluate their business model and customer interfaces. My introduction is as follows:Critically evaluate easyjets online business model and customer interfaces (I need to achieve 40% overall to pass module)……………………………………………………………………………….The late 1990’s marked a period in business history during which stock markets in the western world saw their value increase rapidly from growth in the new internet sector and related fields. The internet had a colossal effect on the way in which we communicate and connectivity put more power into the hands of customers than ever before. Thus many businesses were forced to re-evaluate their business model (simply referring to the way in which they generate profits) and adopt a more customer-orientated approach. As a result of these changes in the technological environment, the study of E-business has vastly increased in importance in recent years. Customers now expect companies, where possible, to provide a similar service online as well as offline. Business organisations are simply required to establish an online presence to remain competitive and E-business provides the basic theory needed for businesses to prosper in the online environment. We may at first make the assumption that E-business simply refers to the buying and selling of goods in an online environment but this is certainly not the case. E-Business has a much broader definition than one may initially imagine. It includes online buying and selling but is not solely restricted to it, as it also refers to the use of internet-based technologies for information sharing and communication between suppliers, manufacturers and customers. The internet hosts a myriad of benefits to the firm that strictly tends to its online strategy and may even become the source of a differential advantage. As an example, electronic storefronts operate all the time so sales can occur around the clock, generating much more profitable business for business organisations. Moreover, there are no overheads in running a website so a firm can vastly improve its marketing in a much more profitable manner.AimWe wish to discuss an airline company that reflects these benefits, which is why we have chosen easyJet to form the basis of our assignment. The aim is three-fold:1.To critically evaluate easyJet’s online business model and customer interfaces2.To discuss how easyJet distinguishes itself from its competitors3.To make recommendations as to how easyJet can improve its online strategy.I think it seems like its not addressing the question as much as it should but I just need to get a half decent mark.

Open Question: i need help with affiliate/internet marketing!?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

okay, so i’m 20 years old and struggling SO bad with money. I’m not currently in school because i have been undecided. Well about 6 months ago i ran into all the scams and schemes to making money online. i bought two programs that were complete crap. With more money going down the drain i felt extremely discouraged by the idea of making money over the internet. But i know that this is what i want to do, and if others are doing it..why can’t i? So my question is, does anyone know anywhere that can teach me the RIGHT WAY to make money online through affiliate marketing without wasting money? I wish i could go to classes to learn this stuff and know that i am doing it right, but the only classes i found costs money & during these times i have to save up just to reach 100 dollars. I’m a fast learner, as long as i know i’m learning the right way and not just buying someone elses program that they are using to put money in their pocket. I also wish i could partner up with someone who knows what they are doing, But paying for someones time in this business is impossible on my budget. anyways, any information would help. THANKS!

Voting Question: Need help on college choices?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I’ve got it down to Grinnell College in Iowa and St. Bonaventure University near Buffalo, New York. I currently live in the suburbs of Chicago. Bonaventure is a solid school, but I just don’t think holds any comparison to Grinnell. Grinnell has amazing facilities and the intellectual atmosphere is amazing. I love the strong liberal arts emphasis and free curriculum, along with the overall campus life. However, my parents are totally opposed to going to Grinnell. I was accepted into a dual degree BS/DO program (med school) program that basically states I have a seat reserved for med school at Lake Erie School of Osteopathic Medicine. However, like I said the school is mediocre compared to Grinnell and I have to live in that corner of New York/Pennsylvania for the next eight years of my life. I know I can have fun either way I go, but I’m afraid building a network in Buffalo and having it destroyed after eight years when I go back to Chicago (I was born and raised Midwest and I know I’ll definitely go back). I’m just so afraid I’ll have to go back to Chicago at age twenty six without any friends. My dad struck a deal with me though. My passion is history and I think I would do very well in it as a undergrad student so I can set up a strong foundation for grad school. And I don’t know if I want to be a doctor right now. I loathe biology. But then again, a lot can change in three, four years. I want to be flexible at the one of the best undergraduate experiences there is to be had. But my dad says if I go to Grinnell, he’ll force me to major in some kind of science. If I go to Bonaventure, I can major in whatever I want, because of the guarantee into medical school (so I’ll pick history). I would be completely in favor of being disowned by my parents and supporting myself entirely through college, but Ginnell requires a parental contribution. My parents are just so adamant that I’m going to be a bum with a history degree and that I can’t go anywhere after that. I wouldn’t be so against Bonaventure if it I knew that I wanted to be a doctor right here and now. So I’m in a tough position and I think it’s past negotiating with my parents. Please give your thoughts, along with your experiences in job markets and different degrees. (Note: Expense of the colleges is not an issue, because Grinnell is way cheaper than Bonaventure.)
